Paypal Donations credit card payments do not process

Some users have reported that Paypal Donations with credit card fields do not process and do not generate any sort of error message.

We're still trying to isolate the situations that would cause PayPal to not process the donations for Credit cards, and have not found a common thread between the sites having trouble. Make sure that you are connected to PayPal Donations in the same way as you are testing, to rule it out.

Donations made via credit card on my Peer to Peer multi step campaign are not showing up in the campaign total or the number of campaign donations. We're using the PayPal payment gateway. The donation is being processed and it is showing in the back end donations list as complete, and donations are being collected from the donor's credit card account. However, if someone makes a donation, they expect to see it reflected in the campaign total. We are setting up a campaign at the moment and have made a number of donations. 7 donations have completed but only 5 show on our campaign. The two missing ones were made using credit card (that's when we could get the credit card part to work).

The back end record of the missing credit card donations doesn't show a P2P Campaign options box link the other PayPal donations do. Attached is an image of the P2P Campaign section from a PalPal donation - this section is missing on donations made using credit card.

This issue is currently affecting a handful of users, and the workaround for some of them has been to use the multistep form. For others, no forms work.
We are trying to isolate this to a point where it is reliably replicable, but at this point it's not. That doesn't mean we're ignoring it, but that we need to get some steps to clearly replicate the problem on our test sites. One thing that we've found is that sometime a JavaScript or other on-page conflict prevents the PayPal SDK from loading correctly. We're working on a way to alert you (the site admin as well as the visitor) when it doesn't load correctly so that at least you don't have to click on the donate button before you find out, but that doesn't resolve the underlying issue. We're still not clear if this is an error that we will even be able to fix. until it's reliably replicable, we're relatively stuck.
