The Profile editor shortcode should modify GiveWP donor, not just

Currently the
[give_profile_editor]
shortcode only modifies the WordPress user, not the GiveWP donor at all. That means that changes made there do not trigger the Zapier Donor Updated zap at all, among other things. Ideally, even a donor without a WP user should be able to use that legacy shortcode to change information, just as they are able to in the donor dashboard.

Any interest at all in fixing this? We have donors complaining that even though they update their email on our website, receipts are still going to their old email address because their donor record hasn't actually changed. And no, we're not able or interested in using the new donor dashboard.

Ian Anderson: Thanks for the ping, here. This is a tough one from our side, because it has two votes (and one of those votes is me) in two years.
I'd be way more keen to solve what seems to be your core problem of unwillingness to use the Donor Dashboard.
One of our priorities after 3.0 is released is to turn our attention to some non-form areas of the product like the Donor Dashboard that could use some attention.
It would be immensely valuable to get your perspective on what about the donor Dashboard you find unusable at this point, and how we could make that more useful for you. Feel free to weigh in here or on a new feedback post (or even an existing one)

The workaround here is to use the Donor Dashboard shortcode/block, which correctly is modifying the Donor record, not just the WP user.
Given that the Donor dashboard exists and is a far better user experience, it's unlikely we'll change how the legacy shortcode works. Our mind could be changed by significant votes and comments here.
