Jason Adams: Can in be run simultaneously with Google Universal? To have both enabled in the settings?
Jason Adams
Area666: No, it's currently either/or. I'd be interested in hearing more about your use case, though! Why would you want to send data to both systems?

Jason Adams:
Its recommended to have both GA4 and universal set up until Google abandons universal.
From what I understood from the migration guide on measureschool

+1 to Chris Todhunter's comment. We need to be collecting GA4 data now so there's historical data to work with. Thanks for the movement on this feature request.

Dear Ben Meredith: since this is being updated at the moment, could you perhaps see if you could add to the plugin the functionality of passing to Google Analytics the donations/amounts/donors etc that come in through recurring donations? I believe atm it is only new one-time donations + the first donation of a recurring set, but if would be hugely useful if in GA we could split out A) revenue, B) donations and C) donors according to whether they were one-time or recurring.

No activity on this for quite a while now. With universal being EOL in a year our clients need to have GA4 in place really soon so they can have year on year data

Seems like there's several requests similar to this one, also with a lot of upvotes. Perhaps they can be merged so that you have a true idea of how many people are looking for this feature?

This really should be moved up higher in the queue since Google has announced they are deprecating the old Google Analytics and all new accounts need to be GA4.

ken: Hey Ken. Thanks for reaching out. Our information shows that Google will continue to support Universal Analytics until July 2023, so while there's definitely increased urgency here, it's not going to stop working anytime urgently. I'm interfacing with the product team here to make sure this is a priority in the near future!

Makes it even harder with the new update to Google Site Kit WP Plugin because it directs you to use the GA4
