Recurring selectable via checkbox

Hi Jason, thanks for getting back to me.
I think it's just that the old design was simpler, more compact on the screen, etc.
What you say about donor choice friction makes a lot of sense, but it doesn’t really apply when you only offer a single recurring period. Speaking for myself, I have only ever offered the monthly option, so for me it’s always been just a simple “would you like to give this monthly?” yes/no question, which lends itself to being represented as a checkbox.
I would want to use the new design on a page dedicated just to a giving form. It’s bold and eye-catching, and I agree that it is likely to drive more recurring income.
I would want to use a small “give this monthly?” checkbox on a simple, space-constrained form embedded on another page.

Thanks again, Matthew Lewis!
Would you mind sharing what you prefer about the old design and what you think it does better than the toggles?
We put a lot of thought into the new design and wanted to reduce the number of decisions the donor has to make. In the old design recurring donations were a two step decision: first whether they wanted to give in recurring, and then the period in which they wanted to give. The new toggles turn this into a single decision: clicking "monthly" is implicit to choosing both to give regularly
and
the period. This aims to reduce donor choice friction and increase the chances of them choosing to give regularly.Would love to hear your thoughts!
