Card declines on multi-step form should display an error message on first click

As a donor, when I enter a card that gets declined, the multistep form does not inform me the card was declined on the first click. If I click the Donate button a second time then the error shows up.

Also having this issue. We are receiving complaints from donors about it. Nothing is logged in the GiveWP log and no failed/abandoned donation record is generated, so there's no way to tell how many donors give up or don't realise their donation didn't go through. Many of our donors are elderly and not too tech savvy.

Actually, I lost 1 donation because of this issue (and possibly more). I recorded with Clarity and I saw that he abandoned the form when he saw nothing happens after clicking on donate now button.

Our team is taking a look at this. While a legitimate bug, it's a fairly edge-case issue in that most cars aren't going to be declined. If more folks vote and comment here, it will move up the priority of this issue. That said, We're adding it to the backlog of issues to be addressed.
