As an admin, I want to disable the emails with a lock on it, but when I click to disable it, it doesn't work and displays an error on the console.

Happy to share that this has been resolved in the new GiveWP 2.11.0 release. Please update and let us know if you have any further issues.

Jason Adams: Thanks. But I still can't turn off the "Subscription Payment Failed Email". When I click the lock icon, I get an error "You cannot edit a notification status from here." There's no setting to turn this email off.

Ian Anderson: I just released Give Recurring 1.12.4 with this fix. We apparently needed to make some fixes in both core and Recurring. Please update Recurring, test it out, and let me know if that resolves the issue for you.

Note: It may take some time for the update to show up.
