Updating total donation amount should not change the base total

As an admin, I might need to change the total donation amount of a donation. However, depending on the payment gateway used alongside the currency switcher add-on, the base total also changes if you change the total donation amount.

This bug also triggers with a change of form, not just a change of donation amount. Any change to the form breaks the the donation form totalling, so it's impossible for people to tell an't actually tell how much is needed to be raised for a form. Can we please have an update after two years?
