VFB forms using Stripe Credit card in a form grid closes the modal

When using a form grid with the display mode set to Modal, and the form is a VFB form (either template), the modal closes before the donation confirmation step is show. This only happens with Stripe so far.
If you open the modal again you will see the donation confirmation step.
The workaround is to either use the Redirect display mode, or use V2 forms.
